IPM ESSEN traditionally represents every aspect of plant production, and all the market leaders will be therewhich is reason enough for Evonik to present itself to visitors at its own booth at this years flagship trade show.

In contrast to conventional acrylic multi-skin sheeting, the PLEXIGLAS Resist multi-skin sheets shown at the IPM have a hail-resistant finish and can therefore be used even in regions with a high risk of hail. In addition, the product combines the properties important for plant production: high weathering resistance and light transmission.

The new version, PLEXIGLAS Resist AAA 16-64 SDP in D-Structure, offers the best light diffusion. With unusually high chamber spacing of 64 mm, the PLEXIGLAS multi-skin sheeting is almost as transparent as glass but at the same time dimensionally stable and tough. The special surface produces a pleasant illumination, free from harsh contrasts and shadows. The very good light diffusion and high light transmission provide optimal growth conditions for plants, says Bernd Petri, head of the roofing business in the Acrylic Products Business Line.

The highest possible transparency is also offered by PLEXIGLAS Alltop multi-skin sheeting, also on display. The NO DROP coating allows rain and condensed water on both the surfaces and in the chambers to flow away rapidly and completely prevents the formation of drops. In combination with the unusually large chamber spacing, this allows a light transmittance of about 91 percent to be obtained.

With properties such as these and a 30-year non-yellowing guarantee, PLEXIGLAS multi-skin sheets are the ideal glazing material for greenhouses and so ensure that your investment retains its value.
