MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL invests into 3D Printing business

MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL today announced that they acquired DUTCH FILAMENTS BV, a leading manufacturer of 3D printing filaments in Europe, via wholly owned group company Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers Europe B.V.

The new production site in Helmond with over 70 employees will strengthen Mitsubishi Chemicals position as a supplier of materials in the innovative sector of 3D printing. DUTCH FILAMENTS started their operations in 2014 and has quickly developed to be one of the major global players in producing filaments for the boosting 3D printing industry.

Ralph Meier, President of Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers in Europe said: With DUTCH FILAMENTS in our group of companies, we can add 3D printing materials to our portfolio. Richard Luiken will remain the CEO of the Company and will have a leading role for 3D printing strategy for the Performance Polymers Division of Mitsubishi Chemical.
