Atáaánews conference atáChinaplas, DuPont executives said it saw strong growth inátheáautomotive plastics market last year.

ôNowhere was this grown more evident than ináChina,ö said Randy Stone, president ofáDuPont Performance Materials. ôWeĺve seen thatágrowth continue intoátheáfirst quarter ofáthis year.ö
Theácompany highlighted theáblow molding machinery investment ináShanghaiábecauseáit said air duct designs are integralátoáturbocharging, which helps engines maintain oráincrease power even asáregulations foráemissions, fueláefficiency andálight-weighting bite.

InáChina, theánumbers ofácars sold witháturbo-charged engines is expected toádouble byá2022.

Theámachine will ôcreate more value toáour customers inátheáautomotive industry,ö said Woong Chung, technicaláservice andádevelopment manager foráAsia-Pacific DuPont Performance Materials.
